Product Information. If you need a desktop computer for demanding office work or gaming and LAN parties, BOXDG35EC can be an excellent option. Developed by Intel, the DG35EC motherboard is lightweight and configured for the small microATX desktop form factor. That can make this board a superb choice for a portable desktop PC. These desktop boards are based on the Intel G35 chipset and have an LGA775 socket. That means that they can support any Intel LGA775 desktop CPU, including Celeron, Core 2, Pentium, and Xeon processors.
The G35 also has an onboard GMA X3500 graphics processor. That sophisticated iGPU lets you tackle demanding video applications without the need for a dedicated graphics accelerator. If the iGPU isn't needed, the driver lets you reduce the system resources allocated to it.You also won't need a dedicated audio solution because Intel has the hardware built in.
The chip is an Intel High Definition Audio system that uses the Realtek ALC888S codec. This is a six channel solution and can be a great choice as a driver for your 5.1 speaker setup. These Intel boards also have four dual inline memory modules. Each DIMM socket supports DDR2 800 or DD2 667. You must choose one format across all four slots and either use one, two, or four slots at a time.
Each slot supports up to 2GB, which can mean a generous maximum memory capacity of 8GB for your desktop PC.DG35EC boards also have four PCI slots: one PCI-e x16, two PCI-e x1, and one conventional bus connector. The x16 can be perfect for a dedicated GPU if choose to have one. The x1 slots are suitable for dedicated sound cards, wireless cards, and similar accessories. This Intel board also has a 10/100/1000 Gigabit controller for easy connection of your desktop to a wired network. These boards also feature four serial ATA, one parallel ATA, and one serial port headers. That allows your desktop PC to have four SATA and up to six total internal hard drives installed. Ten total USB 2.0 ports are also available at both the front and rear of the DG35EC.
That can make it easy and convenient to add external drives and other USB based peripherals to your desktop PC.The BIOS for the BOXDG35EC is finalized. That means that your motherboard should come with the final BIOS version installed. Otherwise, a simple mechanism is provided to make updates. This BIOS gives you control over memory speeds and allocation for video. The BIOS also features hardware monitoring, which lets you monitor fan speeds, internal temperatures, and voltages.Intel DG35EC boards are supported by both 32 and 64 bit Windows versions. That support extends as far back as Windows XP. Drivers will generally be installed during OS installation or update.

Otherwise, you'll find any driver you need on the software disc from the manufacturer. The Intel DG35EC motherboard can be simple to install and configure, and it can be a powerful solution to your most demanding computing needs. Whether you need extra capabilities for your design business or you're a serious gamer, this Intel motherboard may not let you down. Awesome Motherboard! 5 star A I love this motherboard! I have had it installed and working flawlessly for about a month now and it is perfect for my needs. I have an E-machines W3507 and the memory capabilities and processor speed of the motherboard was not up to snuff.
So I installed this motherboard and an Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 3.0GHZ processor(The type of fan and heatsink I needed for the processor I had from the old motherboard but if you don't have one you will need one.) and 4 2GB Corsair XMS2 dual channel DDR2 RAM for a total 8GBs. I also installed 2 160GB Seagate Barracuda hard drives and a 1TB Western Digital SATA with splitters, power adapters, and a SYBA SATA/IDE PCI-Ex1 host controller card. The graphics on this motherboard are fine and all but for gaming I installed a Nvidia Geforce GT 520 PCI-Ex16 graphi cs card with 2GBs of RAM it only has a 64bit bus speed but for the price you can't beat it.
I added another DVD-RW drive and thermal grease for the processor as well as installing Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit. It is a Beast for the common computer user. The perks of this motherboard are top notch for the price: memory, processor, and ect.
The only downfall of this motherboard is it only has 1 PATA IDE port, the other IDE port is an ATA Floppy port(who uses floppy anymore REALLY, even in '08). That is why I had to buy the host controller card. The multiple SATA ports are fine but if you are upgrading an older computer with a power supply with no SATA connectors they are useless without adapters and splitters. Also the one IDE port with a standard ribbon cable can not reach an optical(CD) drive and hard drive depending on the size and position of the hardware, so a longer cable by about 8-12 inches or a host card is needed.
Folx pro. It has a modern, Mac-style interface, offering support for Retina displays and customization settings, which enable personalization.
Especially if you plan to add even one extra hard drive, and this IDE issue goes for most case or tower setups you have unless your setup includes SATA power supply and hardware. Also if you buy this motherboard know that you need memory that is 1.80V and no higher it can say 1.8 or 1.80 but not 1.9 or 2.0, 2.2, ect. Low density non-ECC DDR2 240pin 667 or 800mhz speed no faster or slower. Make sure you search the model number of the board and find out the types of processors that are compatible for it and also all other possible compatible hardware. This link will take you to the information you will need. This is my Very first review ever and I hope it does somebody some good.
